Children of Men

I’m going to write about a movie called “Children of men”. This is a film based in a book of the same name and written by P.D. James, who is a British writer. The story occurs in a futuristic context, specifically in London 2027, where the world has been ravaged by wars, nuclear terrorism, contamination and mass suicide. Also the mankind has lost the capacity of childbearing after of a great flu pandemic in 2008. On the other hand, Britain has become in an authoritarian government where the police forces detain to immigrants. In this context Theo (Clive Owen) - who is a former activist-, is contacted for a militant immigrants' rights group known as the “Fishes” to carry an immigrant female to be pregnant to “Human Project”, which is a scientific group dedicated to find a cure for the infertility. To achieve his objective, Theo must to escape of the repression of the British government and the political activists, who trying to get the baby. Particularly I like this movie because reflect nicely the hope in front to the wickedness and wreckage of the humanity.
